What other jobs have you done at Morland? I started Morland producing drawings and programming the CNC machines, then moved onto being Technical manage, then subsequently operations manager then director.
What does your job entail?
The job of an Operations Director is to oversee and manage the operations of the organization to ensure efficiency, productivity, and adherence to strategic goals
What’s the best part of your role?
I work with a wonderful bunch of people, every organisation has good times and difficult times, in our organisation we have a great team who ensure you have support in difficult times and compadres to celebrate with in the good.
What is the most interesting thing that has happened during your time with the company?
We have recently re-laid one of our factory units, to allow us to specialise in the factory production of door sets. The project was intensive and involved the analysis of each of our value streams. I am a Geek at heart and so loved every minute of having my nose in the detail.
What would you say to people who think working in a factory isn’t for them?
Gone are the days of dark Victorian mills. Modern manufacturing facilities are a place of opportunity for skill development, stable employment, and the potential for growth within an industry that makes something tangible.
What are the Best (3) things about working at Morland?
- I work with a wonderful bunch of people.

What are your hopes for the future with the company?

What level of education did you obtain before joining Morland?
The level of education that I obtained before Morland has not been instrumental in my career. The support and training I have received along with experience from previous employment has allowed me to thrive in this exciting and fast paced environment.
What interests do you have outside of work?
I like to walk in the Welsh mountains, and have my own blacksmith forge that I mess around in on occasion.
Where’s your favourite place you’ve travelled/visited?
Recently we travelled to Hannover to look at processes and machines, we experienced some fantastic bits of automation, as well as having an opportunity to explore the beautiful city centre and eat some great food.
